Thanks so much for the Owner's manual for my Sony PS - FL1. I had purchased the turntable off of eBay. It came in and looked great. Packed well and appeared to be great. I balanced and aligned the tone are and hooked it up. When trying to play a record the tone are would move to the right place and just before it would drop to play it moved back off the edge of the record before touching down. I searched the net for an answer to this issue. No luck. Then I purchased the owners manual and sure enough there was a place to adjust where the stylus touched down. That adjustment solved the problem and saved me a $35 feet to have the player checked out. The manual is well written and easy to understand. It is a must have for anyone with this front loading Sony turntable.
 G-9000 SANSUI Owner's Manual by Laurence White;
Some years back I pruchased a Sansui G-9000. I had it cleaned up and a problem with the left channel repaired. When I got it back I hooked it up to my tape decks, turn tables, TV and it played great. The only thing I was not really satisfied with was the performance of my Graphic Equalizer. I purchased this owner's manual had poured myself a cup of coffee. The manual is well organized and written in plain language. It also contained the solution to my dissatisfaction. By using the preamp connections coupled I was able to run everything through my graphic equalizer and now enjoy the full potential of my complete system.

An excellent service for the price, however, it would also have been handy if the troubleshooter pages were included. The manual is only sent in the language of your country, thus it looks as though there are some pages missing. Otherwise highly recommended.

SUBSIDIARY SETTINGS

Scan Mode Set (HDD & DVD Deck Only)
If you connect the unit and TV with Component Video Connection (A pg. 18), you can select the scan mode from two modes: Interlaced scan mode which is used in the conventional TV system, and Progressive scan mode which enables reproduction of higher-quality images.

Tray Lock (DVD Deck Only)
You can lock the disc tray to prohibit the unwanted disc ejection by children.
● Turn off the unit.

8 Interlaced scan
In the conventional video system, a picture is shown on the display monitor in two halves. The Interlaced scan system places lines of the second half of the picture in-between lines of the first half of the picture.

8 Progressive scan
Progressive scan displays all the horizontal lines of a picture at one time, as a single frame. This system can convert the interlaced video from DVD into progressive format for connection to a progressive display. It dramatically increases the vertical resolution. ATTENTION: Your TV needs to be compatible with Progressive.
● Turn on the unit. ● Turn on the TV and select the AV mode. ● Slide the TV/CABLE/DBS/DVD switch to DVD.
CABLE/DBS TV DVD

To lock tray While the unit is turned off, press and hold o, then press M on the unit. ALOCKB appears on the front display panel and the disc tray is locked. To unlock tray While the unit is turned off, press and hold o, then press M on the unit. AUNLOCKB appears on the front display panel.

Child Lock
You can disable the operations of this unit using the Child Lock function.
● Turn on the unit.

When the unit is turned on, press and hold DVD A on the remote control for more than 10 seconds. ● The unit turns off and enters into Child Lock mode. ● When in Child Lock mode, ACLB will appear on the front display panel indicating that Child Lock mode is engaged when an attempt was made to operate buttons on the unit or remote control. Press and hold DVD A on the remote control for more than 10 seconds. ● Child Lock is released and the unit turns on.

NOTE: Timer recording will be performed even if Child Lock is activated.

PROGRESSIVE SCAN

Press HDD or DVD so that the HDD or DVD lamp lights up on the unit. Press PROGRESSIVE SCAN for 3 or more seconds.

● Video output indicator (q) lights on the front display panel if

● Each press of PROGRESSIVE SCAN for 3 or more seconds

switches the scan mode. NOTES: ● Interlaced scan mode is the setting at your purchase. ● Interlaced scan mode might be suitable depending on video material. ● Scan mode cannot be set while menu screen is displayed. ● When the Progressive scan mode is engaged, no video signal is output from [S-VIDEO OUTPUT] connector and [VIDEO/AUDIO OUTPUT] connectors.
