Having purchased a 1994 Kenwood music system from a Charity shop in 2013 (it was a high end product in its day), I found myself not quite knowing where to plug in what, and how to do this, that and the next thing. I needed a Manual, and after failure with another online 'Manual provider' I found Owner Manuals dot com. Well, I wasn't sure, but it was only $5, and if things didn't work out, I wouldn't have lost much... But things DID work out. After paying my childrens inheritance money, $4.99, I was sent a Manual for my Kenwood System very quickly. Alas, it was in German, and being Scottish, I could not read it or get my system in order from it...a rapid email to them brought the English Manual in short order, and my retro-system was and IS up and running in it's regulation settings. I am very grateful to http://www.owner-manuals.com for their quick service and for even having such an obsolete Manual in the first place! If you need a Manual for ANYTHING, try here first. Protect
This mode helps prevent accidental erasure of images. Put a padlock mark next to the desired still image, and that still image cannot be deleted.

Set the System Select Switch to âD.S.C.â. MENU Jog Dial

Press the MENU Jog Dial.

ACCESS PROTECT MENU SCREEN

Rotate the MENU Jog Dial to move the highlight bar to âPROTECTâ, then press it. â¢If you do not want to perform âProtectâ for any still image, go to step 4.

Rotate the MENU Jog Dial to move the frame to the desired still image, then press it. The padlock mark appears above the selected image. â¢On the Protect Menu Screen, all still images are displayed six at a time. To perform âProtectâ for the still images that come after the 6th one, rotate the MENU Jog Dial to move the frame from Index No. 1 to No. 6, then rotate it further downward. The frame is placed automatically on the 7th still image. Images after the 7th one can also be accessed in the same way. â¢To complete âProtectâ, go to step 4.

Rotate the MENU Jog Dial upward to place the highlight bar on âEXITâ, then press it twice.

To remove âProtectâ. . .
Perform steps 1 and 2, rotate the MENU Jog Dial to move the frame to the desired still image with the padlock mark, then press it. The padlock mark located above the still image disappears and the image is no longer protected. When finished removing protection, perform step 4.

NOTES:
â To move the frame from Index No. 7 to 6, place the highlight bar on âEXITâ by rotating the MENU Jog Dial upward. Rotate the MENU Jog Dial further upward. The frame is moved to the 6th still image automatically. Perform the same procedure for still images that follow the 13th one. â On the Protect Menu Screen, a star mark is displayed next to a still image you shot in the FINE mode.
