Having purchased a 1994 Kenwood music system from a Charity shop in 2013 (it was a high end product in its day), I found myself not quite knowing where to plug in what, and how to do this, that and the next thing. I needed a Manual, and after failure with another online 'Manual provider' I found Owner Manuals dot com. Well, I wasn't sure, but it was only $5, and if things didn't work out, I wouldn't have lost much...
But things DID work out. After paying my childrens inheritance money, $4.99, I was sent a Manual for my Kenwood System very quickly. Alas, it was in German, and being Scottish, I could not read it or get my system in order from it...a rapid email to them brought the English Manual in short order, and my retro-system was and IS up and running in it's regulation settings.
I am very grateful to http://www.owner-manuals.com for their quick service and for even having such an obsolete Manual in the first place! If you need a Manual for ANYTHING, try here first. I wouldn't be surprised if I bought a 1928 Marconi radio, and got the user Manual for THAT here too!

When the tape is not running
Rewind/fast-forward at high speed Press 3 or 5. Eject the cassette Press . OR Press 0 on the player. â You can also eject the cassette when the player is standby mode. â When the tape is ejected, the counter is reset automatically. Engage the player in the standby mode Press 1 on the remote OR Press 1 on the player. control.
A Load a cassette
Make sure the window side is up, the rear label side is facing you and the arrow on the front of the cassette is pointing towards the player. â Do not apply too much pressure when inserting. â The player turns on automatically. â If the cassetteâs record safety tab has been removed, playback begins automatically.
Adjusting tracking condition
Automatic tracking adjustment When a new cassette is loaded, the player enters the automatic tracking mode. âAUTO TRACKINGâ appears on the screen during the automatic tracking mode. Manual tracking adjustment If automatic tracking cannot eliminate noises well during playback, adjust the tracking manually. Press and hold TRK + or â to eliminate the noises.
B Start playback
Press 4. â If the tape reaches its end during playback, the player stops playback, rewinds the tape and ejects the cassette, then enters the standby mode automatically.
Stop playback Press 8 on the remote OR Press 0 on the player. control. Pause playback and view still picture Press 9. â The player enters Pause mode after moving 2 or 3 frames. â If there is vertical jitter, use the TRK+/â to correct the picture. â Press 4 to resume normal playback. â Still picture playback stops automatically after about 5 minutes to protect the heads. High-Speed Search Press 3 or 5. â Press 4 to resume normal playback. â High-speed search stops automatically after about 3 minutes to protect the heads, then normal playback resumes.
If you press and hold 3 or 5 during rewinding or fastforwarding, you can see the picture on the screen. Releasing it cancels the picture search and resume rewinding and fastforwarding.
If you want to play back a tape repeatedly, set âREPEATâ to âONâ.
then press OK.
A Press MENU to access Main Menu screen. B Press w e to select the icon âREPEATâ,
C Press w e to set to âONâ, then press OK. D Press MENU to return to normal screen.
â When the end of the tape is reached, the player automatically rewinds tape to the beginning and repeats playback continuously.
In the search or still mode, â the picture will be distorted. â the noise bars will appear. â there will be a loss of colour. â the picture may not appear. â However, this is not malfunction.
Set âREPEATâ to âOFFâ when you want to stop repeat playback. Ejecting a tape also stops repeat playback.
