Thanks so much for the Owner's manual for my Sony PS - FL1. I had purchased the turntable off of eBay. It came in and looked great. Packed well and appeared to be great. I balanced and aligned the tone are and hooked it up. When trying to play a record the tone are would move to the right place and just before it would drop to play it moved back off the edge of the record before touching down. I searched the net for an answer to this issue. No luck. Then I purchased the owners manual and sure enough there was a place to adjust where the stylus touched down. That adjustment solved the problem and saved me a $35 feet to have the player checked out. The manual is well written and easy to understand. It is a must have for anyone with this front loading Sony turntable.
Some years back I pruchased a Sansui G-9000. I had it cleaned up and a problem with the left channel repaired. When I got it back I hooked it up to my tape decks, turn tables, TV and it played great. The only thing I was not really satisfied with was the performance of my Graphic Equalizer. I purchased this owner's manual had poured myself a cup of coffee. The manual is well organized and written in plain language. It also contained the solution to my dissatisfaction. By using the preamp connections coupled I was able to run everything through my graphic equalizer and now enjoy the full potential of my complete system.
An excellent service for the price, however, it would also have been handy if the troubleshooter pages were included. The manual is only sent in the language of your country, thus it looks as though there are some pages missing. Otherwise highly recommended.
TIMER RECORDING (cont.)
You can directly program the VCRâs timer to record up to 8 shows, as far as a year in advance. Remember, the clock must be set before you can program the timer ( pg. 8 or 9). You can also use the optional Illumi-Guide feature, where the relevant buttons on the remote control light to tell you which button to press next. The Illumi-Guide feature is activated by the ILLUMI GUIDE button on the remote control. The Illumi-Guide feature is only active when the remote control's TV/CABLE/VCR switch is set to "VCR". (Illumi-Guide is an optional help feature which makes programming easier. It is not necessary to use Illumi-Guide to program the VCR.)

LOAD A CASSETTE
Make sure the record safety tab is intact. If not, cover the hole with adhesive tape, then load. â The VCR comes on, and the counter is reset, automatically.
ACCESS ON-SCREEN MENU

To use the Illumi-Guide feature press ILLUMI GUIDE. The MENU, REW, PLAY and FF buttons will light. Press MENU as many times as necessary to bring up the Main Menu screen. â If you are using the Illumi-Guide feature, MENU lights up and OK blinks.
ACCESS PROGRAM SET SCREEN
Make sure the arrow is to the left of "PROGRAM SET",
then press OK. â If you are using the Illumi-Guide feature, OK blinks when the following buttons are lit: NUMBER keys (0 â 9), TIME SCAN, CANCEL and MENU.

Press the appropriate NUMBER keys or CH5â or TIME SCAN 5â to select a vacant program number, then press OK. The first time

When Using The Illumi-Guide Feature
â Buttons light or blink on the remote control for approximately 10 seconds. If the button or buttons extinguish during timer programming, press ILLUMI GUIDE and the button or buttons previously lit or blinking come back on. If the button or buttons do not re-light or start blinking again, press MENU as many times as necessary to return to the normal screen and extinguish all illuminated buttons, and re-perform the timer programming procedure from the beginning. â If for some reason the remote control's signal is not received by the VCR, press MENU as many times as necessary to return to the normal screen and extinguish all illuminated buttons, and re-perform the timer programming procedure from the beginning.
