I purchased the unit from a private party and the original owners manual was not available. Having the ability to download it was extremely helpful and clarified operating the equipment immensely. This is a complicated unit and without the manual I would not have been able to maximize it's potential. Thank you.

PRO HD SYSTEM
This PRO HD system can perform playback of the D-VHS tape recorded by the MPEG2-TS signal. This VCR can check the tape condition during playback (and recording), and realizes the best possible pictures.
PRO HD System Playback
â Turn on the VCR and the TV, and select the AV mode on the TV. â Set the VCR/TV/CABLE/DBS selector on the Remote to âVCRâ.
Please refer to next page, when you playback the tape on which the password was set up.
1 Load a D-VHS cassette
Make sure the window side is up, the rear label side is facing you and the arrow on the front of the cassette is pointing towards the VCR. Do not apply too much pressure when inserting. â The VCR turns on automatically. â The tape will run for a few seconds while the VCR searches for the tape number. If the tape number is found, it will be shown on the TV screen if âSUPERIMPOSEâ is set to âONâ ( pg. 59). â The counter is reset automatically, however, it is not completely reset to â0:00:00â. â If the cassetteâs record safety tab has been removed, playback begins automatically.

2 Start playback
To stop playback
Press PLAY ( 3 ). â Tape speed is automatically detected.
Press STOP ( 7 ) on the Remote or STOP/EJECT ( 7/0 ) on the front panel.
To rewind the tape (when it is not running)
Press REW ( 1 ).
To fast-forward (when it is not running)
Press FF ( Â¡ ).

To eject the tape
Press STOP/EJECT ( 7/0 ) on the front panel when the tape is not running. â You can also eject the cassette when the VCR is turned off.
