Thank you for having the manual I needed for an older model Aiwa stero I had found on Ebay --- I wanted the Aiwa because I had tapes and cd's but I did not have a manual as to how to operate the system... I found what I needed and it has enabled me to set the system up for my enjoyment.
The manual was very helpfull, it answerdes all my questions, and i was surprized to find the original manual on this site! Big thumbs uP:)

Adjusting the output level of the subwoofer
You can adjust the output level within the range from â10 to 10. On the remote control:
Changing the decode mode
When you play a disc (or software) encoded with Dolby Digital or DTS Digital Surround, the following symptoms may occur; â¢ Sound does not come out at the beginning of playback. â¢ Noise comes out while searching for or skipping chapters or tracks. In these cases, change the decode mode to âDOLBY Dâ (for Dolby Digital) or âDTSâ (for DTS Digital Surround). 7 When DVD or AUX DIGITAL is selected as the source On the remote control:
Press S.WFR +/â.
â¢ You can also make adjustments using the choice menu shown on the TV screen. (A pg. 54) â¢ The adjustments on a source take effect for the other sources.
Adjusting the bass/treble sound
You can adjust each enhancement level from the front speakers within the range from â10 to 10. On the remote control:
Press DECODE to select the decode mode.
The current decode mode appears on the display window. Example: When âAUTO/PCMâ is selected.
Press BASS +/â for bass sound. Press TREBLE +/â for treble sound.
â¢ You can also make adjustments using the choice menu shown on the TV screen. (A pg. 53) â¢ The adjustments on a source take effect for the other sources. â¢ You can adjust bass/treble enhancement level only for front left/right channel. However, the supplied speakers cannot add the effective change to the bass sound because of their cutoff frequency even if the bass sound adjustment is made. (A pg. 54) To change the bass enhancement level more efficiently, adjust the output level of the subwoofer. (A âAdjusting the output level of the subwooferâ) (When you change the front speakers to the larger ones and select âLARGEâ for the front speakers in the SIZE sub-menu (A pg. 54), the effective adjustment of bass sound is also possible by pressing BASS +/â.)
Each time you press the button, the decode mode changes as follows;
] AUTO/PCM ] DOLBY D ] DTS ] (back to the beginning)
â¢ AUTO/PCM: Normally select this. The system automatically detects the incoming signals. â¢ DOLBY D: Select this if the symptoms above occur when playing a disc (or software) encoded with Dolby Digital. â¢ DTS: Select this if the symptoms above occur when playing a disc (or software) encoded with DTS Digital Surround. NOTE
â¢ When âDOLBY Dâ or âDTSâ is selected, if a signal encoded with another digital format comes in, you cannot listen to the sound. (The GDIGITAL or C indicator flashes.) â¢ Changing the source returns the decode mode to âAUTO/PCMâ automatically.
