This was a very hard to find manual. The unit is long discontinued and Pioneer doesn't retain every manual for every model. Thanks owner's-manual.com!
Selecting the source to play
On the remote control:
Listening with headphones
CAUTION Be sure to turn down the volume;
â¢ Before connecting or putting on headphones as high volume may damage both the headphones and your hearing. â¢ Before disconnecting headphones as high volume may be suddenly output from the speakers.
Press one of the source selecting buttons (DVD, FM/AM, AUX or TV SOUND).
To play back a disc (DVD, Video CD etc.). (A pg. 21, 23) FM/AM: To tune in an FM or AM (MW) station. (A pg. 25) Each time you press the button, the band alternates between FM and AM (MW). AUX: To select the source from a component connected to the AUX IN jacks or DIGITAL IN jack. (A pg. 12) Each time you press the button, the source alternates between âAUXâ and âAUX DIGITALâ. TV SOUND: To select the TV (that outputs sound signals) connected to the AV (SCART) connector. (A pg. 8) On the center unit: DVD:
Connect a pair of headphones to the PHONES jack on the center unit. This cancels the surround mode (A pg. 33) currently selected, deactivates the speakers, turns the subwooferâs power off, and activates the headphone mode. âHEADPHONEâ appears on the display window.
â¢ Disconnecting a pair of headphones from the PHONES jack cancels the headphone mode and activates the speakers at the previously selected surround mode. Headphone mode When using the headphones, the following signals are output regardless of your speaker setting; â¢ For 2 channel sources, the front left and right channel signals are output directly from the left and right headphones. â¢ For multi-channel sources, the front left and right, center and surround channel signals are down-mixed and then output from the headphones. You can enjoy the down-mixed multi-channel sound source using the headphones.
Press SOURCE repeatedly until the source name you want appears on the display window.
Each time you press the button, the source changes as follows;
] DVD ] AM ] FM ] AUX ] AUX DIGITAL ] TV SOUND ] (back to the beginning)
The selected source name appears on the display window. Example: When âAUXâ is selected.
â¢ When a source except DVD is selected, this system does not output video signals.
Turning off the sound temporarily
On the remote control:
Adjusting the volume
â¢ Always set the volume to minimum level before starting any source. If the volume is set at its high level, the sudden blast of sound could permanently damage your hearing and/or blow out the speakers.
âMUTINGâ appears on the display window and the sound turns off.
You can adjust the volume level within the range from â0â (minimum) to â70â (maximum). On the remote control:
To restore the sound Press MUTING again. â¢ Pressing AUDIO VOL +/â (or turning VOLUME on the center unit) also restores the sound.
Press AUDIO VOL + or â.
â¢ Press + to increase volume. â¢ Press â to decrease volume. On the center unit:
â¢ Turn VOLUME clockwise to increase volume. â¢ Turn VOLUME counterclockwise to decrease volume. The volume level appears on the display window.
